Came across this photo from back in 2008. I had JUST started to do any attempts of losing weight. I don’t even think I was still at my highest at this point. God willing I will never see this again.
I have the tools… I know what I have to do to keep it down. Today want a very good weigh in… But what do ya do right? Give up? HELL NO! I just tighten my eating up. Today I didn’t eat anything off protocol so hoping for a bit larger weight loss tomorrow.

My breakfast yesterday. It was good… But not sure what caused my stall today, was either this, or dinner. For dinner I had 2 turkey burgers and cherry tomatoes… Yeah, I know… Not on protocol.
So… Yeah. I stalled today, no loss, no gain. Won’t pretend I’m not a little disappointed, but it is what it is and it happens. I don’t get discouraged… I just move forward.
Day 6: Nice loss today! Didn’t know what to expect because last night I had 3 shots of vodka mixed in seltzer water. I tested my ketones in the middle of the night and it wasn’t showing trace… But when I woke up and tested again I was still in ketosis.
Usually 3 shots of vodka would just give me a slight buzz, but eating only 500 calories a day I was pretty buzzed after just the first drink! So you can imagine how I was feeling after 3.
Truth be told I didn’t eat dinner last night. I did eat my apple and Melba Toast, but was out and about until late after drinks and just didn’t feel like trying to figure out something to eat. Wasn’t hungry, but I know I should NOT do this, and I don’t on a regular basis.
Had a Starbucks coffee this morning that gave me a stomach ache, asked for one cream and the coffee tasted real thick. Wasn’t good at all…bleck. So now I am spending my day off lounging on the couch watching a ”Sex and the City” marathon waiting for my stomach to feel better so I can start cleaning this damn house. :)

I took a chance and ate something completely off protocol (but still very close to it) last night for dinner. Nicole and I went to San Bernardino to see my mom in the hospital and stopped for dinner at BJ’s afterwords. We made the best possible decision we could giving our options. We had the Chicken A La Fresca which is on their 575 calorie or less menu. It comes with Rice pilaf which we nixed and added more veggies. it was drizzled with a light Dijon tarragon jus and tossed in balsamic vinaigrette. Let me tell you it was SO good! Maybe TOO good because I had a bad feeling about today’s weigh in. The only things that weren’t on protocol was the mushrooms, squash, and carrots (I didn’t eat the carrots) and the dressing. So all in all.. not too bad.
I woke up feeling quite a bit lighter today.. my stomach feels like it is already shrinking and doesn’t feel as full all the time. I don’t feel as bloaty also. I can SEE it in my stomach already in the mirror. It is a good feeling. Not eating all the sugars, heavy fats and proccessed foods really does make all the difference in the world when it comes to your well being. I wish I could get this through my thick head when I’m NOT on protocol. Someday I’ll learn.

Not the biggest loss I have had, but I can’t say I’m surprised. Acutally, I am surprised I lost anything this weigh in. :)
Day 7 weigh in ~ 168 (-1.4 lbs from lowest weight of 169.4) (-5 lbs from R4 Starting weight of 173) (-54.4 lbs From beginning 1st round at 222.4 (-94.2 total lbs from highest at 262.2)
Weight loss is a little slower then usual… But I expected this. It’s also “that time of the month” so…. Yeeeeah.
Thus far, it has been the easiest round. I’m not feeling at all deprived or hungry. I got so busy yesterday I forgot to cook dinner, so I just had an apple and a melba toast and called it a night.

With only 3 days left, this is nice to see.
When I first started hCG 6 months ago (in November 2010) I got a lot of negative feedback on my decision to go drastic with this particular choice. I had a hard time defending myself, because quite frankly… such a drastic calorie reduction seems crazy… I KNOW! I would get stories of people who have done this diet and were unsuccessful, or gone right off it for a week or so and gained all their weight back. I listened… I took it all in… I worried this was going to happen to me… and I did it anyways. And I’m SO glad I did. People are taking notice of my success and some of those people who were bad mouthing it, now are trying or thinking about trying it for themselves. Looking at the scale sit at 169.8 brings a tear to my eye… it’s a wonderful feeling of success. In some of my darkest moments I’ve wished for moments like this… but never really thought they would happen to me. I thought I was destined to sit in the 200’s for the remaining of my days…
I feel it’s my job to tell you these things…I want you to be successful like me. If I can do it… YOU CAN DO IT! It’s just a matter of committing yourself to what ever it is you decide to do. hCG may not be for everyone, but for some it just may be the miracle you have been looking for. For me… it is.

Apple days never let me down :)
Today WOULD have been my last day… but I extended it 6 days so 6 days to go! Next Tuesday I get to eat semi-normal again! So excited for that… :))
I am finally okay with my body size. Yes, I can stand to still lose weight, no, I’m not perfect… no I’m not to my goal… but I feel good about myself. I can fit into “regular” size clothing. Large instead of Xtra Large. Regular pants, instead of Plus Size pants. I’m getting TONS of compliments from people I haven’t seen in a while, and that feels great.
I think this diet has been a God Send for me, and I hope anyone who tries it finds the same results I have.

Half way through the 170’s… With 16 days left…
I checked my BMI today and I am at 31. (still considered in the obese category) BUT at 169 I will no longer be in that category and will move to the “overweight” level… That will be exciting :)
I said it yesterday, and will say it again today for reaffirmation…. Water (well liquids) is making all the difference with my weight loss….

Let’s keep the momentum going! Only 19 days left on VLCD Phase 1… sounds like a lot, but it will come quickly. 8 pounds left to hit this round’s goal of 20 pounds.. I sure hope I can get there. This round has been a little slower on the weight loss front. Maybe that’s because my body is getting used to this process. I am supposed to add a week to my maintain Phase 4 after each round. I didn’t, and that may have caused this stall, your body just get’s used to it.

Yep… I’ve hit it. So now it’s time to fix it (or attempt to do so). “How?” You ask…. The dreaded apple day. I hate it… But it’s a necessary evil in this diet. So…. I eat an apple every 2-3 hours beginning at noon, with only a small amount of water to quench your thirst if needed (you get water from the apples) needless to say I will be sick of apples by the end of the day.
Why an apple day?: wow, you are full of questions aren’t ya?
The apple day stimulates your body to eliminate the retention of liquids which may be the influencing factor of your scale not budging. The weight loss usually continues when going back to the 500 calorie a day diet… And water retention typically does not return.
